Al Franken is a jackass

If you havent heard of the fairly new liberal talk radio station Air America, you are probably not alone. In short, Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo got together with a bunch of their other entertainer friends to form a radio station to combat the vast right-wing conspiracy controlling the news, because we all know actors and comedians are all qualified political intellectuals and that the three major networks are controlled by Nazis.

After launching their network a few weeks ago on six stations to little fan fair, they seemed to disappear quietly into the night. That is until yesterday when two of their top stations, one in Chicago, the other LA, pulled the plug on their broadcast. According to the Drudge report, the owner of said stations received a check for a million dollars that bounced promptly resulting the pulling of the aforementioned plug. Today, this is the press release in response from Air America Radio.

In case you didnt read it, it basically disputes the charges of the station owner, Arthur Liu, with such sound arguments as, This Liu-ser was ripping off our boss Evan Cohen big time if we ever get low on cash, we can always call Barbra Streisand Direct quotes, I kid you not. Tell me, who could really think up such funny banter other than no talent comedians employed as political pundits. I am sure such arguments will be learned and studied by our best debaters for years to come.

So how does this great network that is out for our best interests conclude their press release, by none other than calling for their zealots to hunt down and harass the station owner in question. Here is yet another direct quote:

In the meantime, why dont you give Arthur a call at (212)966-1059, or check out his website www.mrbi.net

Arthur Liu, I wouldnt show your face around here.

I realize we all have different opinions and beliefs and we all have a right to express them, thats whats great about this country. I am all for people expressing their opinions and making their cases. At some point I just hope the so-called experts who are busy telling us all what we need to think and feel can start doing it without sounding like five year-olds bickering back and forth. What ever happened to the civil exchange of ideas?

Enough ranting for me, I have work to do,
